Bògòlanfini, commonly known as "mud cloth" is a beautiful raw cotton textile traditionally handmade with fermented mud, leaves and natural dyes in Mali, West Africa. The textile can be used for many purposes, including head-wrapping (encouraged to use a silk scarf underneath), neck scarf, decor, etc.
Bògòlanfini comes from the Bambara language: bogo, meaning “earth” or “mud;” lan, meaning “with;” and fini, meaning “cloth.”
Each textile is one of a kind and handmade in Mali, Africa. No two pieces of cloth are made alike.
